Nina Becker is a great singer from Rio De Janeiro.... performing , in Rio...if you're there go !!
She sang on my album 'Afternoon in rio " ...check it !! She has two recent albums out and will I guess play songs from those albums....

FERNANDO CATATAU AND THE FORTALEZA UNDERGROUND...
I was hanging last nite with my friend Fernando Catatau, a great guitarist from Fortaleza , Brasil. He now resides in Sao Paulo and is kinda "the one" on the scene, playing ,producing , composing. He was telling me and showing me videos of this rocker from Fortaleza called Jonnata Doll..kinda amazing energy , here he is performing one song with Catatau's band Cidadao Instigado. Catatau also recorded with me on the album "Afternoon in rio "...check it !

Saw this great band from Jamaica called the Mighty Diamonds. One of my first reggae records discoveries back in the day from Jamaica....still going strong , sounded great.

The original crew !!! Mauro was back this week from his ongoing tour with Red Hot Chilli Peppers . They sounded just great , thick , dancy and nothing like it really , it's Forro but it's their Forro....

SKOPJE JAZZFESTIVAL....30 YEARS..
We played as Ilhan Ersahin's Istanbul Sessions at this great festival , Wayne Shorter , Charles Lloyd and many more played ...great Fest , Great Peeps , Great city...and perfect hosts. We happened to play 2 big shows in the same nite, first we shared the bill with great Nil Petter Molvaer in an amazing opera house, then we played a late nite set at 2 am for over 1000 people in an old movie theater...rock n roll...it was .

FORRO IN THE DARK ,RAIN OR SHINE ...IT'S A PARTY !
While Mauro Refosco is on tour with the Red hot chill peppers , tonite they played Stockholm !, Forro rocks on every Wednesday at Nublu in outer place,24 first Avenue . Rain or shine, really , they even keep getting better and better , I guess that's what suppose to happen if it's happenin...making things better is always a good thing. Greg Caz as always selecter extraordinaire.

HESS IS MORE RELEASE PARTY ....
Hess is more made their record release party fun , crazy , bizarre and musical as they do it. James Murphy from LCD was there checkin it out and a bunch of other hipster New Yorkers..400 people came out to the former strip club , now operated as Westway, the spot is cool and I guess trendy. Was real nice to see how this band has found their voice here in the city. OUT ON NUBLU RECORDS ...CREATION KEEPS THE DEVIL AWAY !! CHECK EM OUT..
