On davis and the original Djuke music players sounded great ! This band is getting better and better every time I hear them . Its like Jimi Hendrix-Sly Stone -Sun Ra combination...only in NYC !! Another only in NYC band was the Sunday nite show Juini Booth presented with him on bass ,Spaceman on guitar and Victor Jones on drums. Sun Ra alumnis took the music far far away from planet earth . Juini Booth , is a legendary baseman who has played besides Sun Ra for years , Juini was the bass player with the infamous Joe henderson Big Band back in 1968 that was never recorded, then Juini went on to play with Shelly Manne , Art Blakey , Tony Williams lifetime band , McCoy Tyner and so on...Tuesday nite ; Nublu Orchestra with Butch Morris conducting !! ... swing by .. .. ohh and Eyvind Opsvik played some great music early set Sunday with Tony Malaby , Kenny Wollesen and Jacob Sacks !
